NZeTA overview
Around 60 nationalities can visit New Zealand visa-free for up to 3 months (6 months for UK citizens) — but almost all of them must still apply for an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before flying, plus pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). A handful of nationalities aren't visa-waiver at all and need a full visitor visa arranged in advance. How to apply for an NZeTA
The official portal is immigration.govt.nz/nzeta. Most applications are processed within minutes to 72 hours. Cost is NZD 17 via the mobile app or NZD 23 via the website, plus the mandatory NZD 100 IVL — around NZD 117-123 total, valid for 2 years with multiple entries.
